Envirocare – Apprenticeship Scheme 2019
Envirocare are refreshing their existing 2019 apprenticeship scheme. Apprenticeships are great training programmes that give young people a chance to work, literally, towards a qualification, helping gain the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in your chosen industry. Offering young people the opportunity to get into employment earlier means there’s lots of potential for them to progress their career quickly.
In our experience apprentices are willing to learn, with a positive attitude and fresh ideas they can have a positive knock on effect on existing staff. Apprenticeships offer a fantastic work experience and on the job training which gives people the chance to put their skills into practice and generates confidence in a working environment.
Level 2 Diploma in Work-based Horticulture
Envirocare are committed to recruiting from the local workforce and have an established apprenticeship scheme in partnership with Myerscough Agricultural College. This qualification is suitable for anyone who is looking to establish a career in a horticulture/soft landscaping industry. People new to the industry will start in a ‘hands-on’ role covering a range of practical tasks, with specialist skills being learnt through progression.
There are no specific entry requirements, the scope can be from school leavers upwards with young apprentices working no more than 40 hours per week under full supervision, training and assessment.
A horticulture apprenticeship will typically take 12 – 18 months to complete. However this may be reduced if an apprentice has already gained knowledge and skills working in a horticulture/soft landscaping/grounds maintenance role.
