We are sure everyone who attended the Envirocare Annual Conference at the Marriott Hotel, Preston on Friday will agree…it was a good one!
Meeting early morning for the conference we started the day with the very first “Envirocare Conker Tournament” and we think this may have to become an annual League.
Yes, you heard it right…a conker tournament! and what great fun was had by all. It certainly brought out the competitive steak in everyone as 40 members of the team – a mixture of Supervisors, Managers and Directors went bonkers for conkers!
It certainly got everyone’s blood flowing before we got down to business….discussing new idea’s, developing main business area’s and getting up to speed with all that is needed from us over the coming season.
We then went our seperate ways (the majority to the hotel bar!) to get our evening dresses and tuxedo’s on for the Awards & Gala Dinner. Hosted by Willy Thorne this ensured a great day was followed by a wonderful evening.
After a lovely meal we followed with the Envirocare Awards Ceremony and we will make sure we have lots of photographs for the entire event to share with you in next weeks blog.
After the awards, Mr Thorne was truly brilliant at driving up the prices for the items in our charity auction – ensuring as much money as possibly was made for this years chosen worthy cause – the Downs Syndrome Association.
We then donned our dancing shoes and a great local band – Fear of Flying, ensured that everyone had a great time and the dance floor stayed full with a great mix of covers – putting everyone in the mood to continue until the early hours with the DJ disco.
