You may remember a blog we ran some time ago telling you about the ongoing charity from one of our retail park maintenance teams. They regularly come across pallets and scrap metal, like those shown in the image, which have been dumped onto one of our clients’ sites.
Of course, as part of our Grounds Maintenance programme, it is always our job to ensure that all of our clients’ sites are in pristine condition at all times, but rather than simply clear the site – one team who take care of a particular site – who have a regular problem with people tipping things onto their grounds – decided to do some good with rubbish that would usually be of no benefit to the environment at all – they recycle it.
By doing this they benefit two great causes in their local community in one go. The environment, by getting companies to buy and recycle the material and also the local community, by taking the money that they receive, saving it until it is a more substantial sum and donating every penny to a different charity twice a year.
This time, was the turn of The Royal British Legion who help the entire armed forces – whether it be ex-servicemen and women or their dependents, all year round. Our Grounds Maintenance team – John and David, recently donated a very healthy cheque for £850.00 to them.
The charity even took time to write us a letter to say “thank you” and advised the team exactly where their donation would be used and who would benefit from it, which is wonderful to know that every penny really does go to those who need it. We can safely say on behalf of all at Envirocare Grounds Maintenance to all at The Royal British Legion – “it is an absolute pleasure” and not forgetting a big “Well Done” David & John and keep up the good work.
